Asian Pottery
The Chinese first produced pottery about 3,500 BCE.The first use glazes occurred around 300 BCE, again by the Chinese. During the Tang dynasty, (618 CE), there were many different colors of glazes being used. The Tang dynasty also saw the development of the first true porcelain. During the two dynasties that followed, the Sung and the Yuan, the making of porcelain became a closely guarded art form.
We offer antique selections from China and Southeast Asia. All works of art are original and authentic. The Chinese pieces are most noted for their beautiful presence – while the works from Vietnam are more subtle in design and coloration.
